If the idea of walking into a busy, male-dominated gym has ever put you off, this class is built for you. Our ladies-only Muay Thai is a space where it's just you and other women, coached by a woman who understands exactly where you're starting from. You can relax, learn at your own pace, and actually enjoy it.

Muay Thai is one of the best full-body workouts there is. You'll build fitness, strength and confidence, and pick up genuine self-defence skills along the way. You don't have to be fit to start, you don't need any experience, and you certainly don't have to want to fight. Most of the women in the room started exactly where you are now.

We're a full-time Muay Thai gym in Guildford, about a ten-minute walk from the town centre and mainline station, with on-site parking. Whatever your age or starting point, you're welcome here. Come and try it, on us, before you decide anything.

New to this?

What your first class is really like

Arrive a few minutes early and a coach will say hello, show you around and settle you in. You won't be left to figure things out on your own, and you won't be the only first-timer in the room. Wear comfy clothes and trainers, bring some water, and that's it. We lend you the gloves.

The class starts with a gentle warm-up, then you'll learn a few basic techniques on the pads. Your coach guides you through each move slowly, so there's no guesswork and nothing to feel silly about. You go at a pace that suits you, and you stop for a breather whenever you need one.

The thing most women worry about most: no, you will not be thrown into sparring, and there's no contact for beginners. You'll never be made to fight. You're here to learn and to enjoy it, and that's exactly how the class is run. By the end of your first session, most women are surprised by how much fun they had and how welcome they felt.

Common questions

Will I be the only woman, or in a room full of men?

It's a women-only class, so it's just you and other women, coached by a woman. No mixed sessions, no men sparring with you, and nothing to feel self-conscious about.

Do I need to be fit or have any experience?

Not at all. This class is built for complete beginners. You set your own pace, and you'll build fitness as you go. Most of the women here started with zero experience.

Will I have to spar or get hit?

No. There's no sparring and no contact for beginners, and you'll never be made to fight. You're here to learn technique and get a great workout, nothing more.

What do I wear and what do I need to bring?

Comfy clothes, trainers and a bottle of water. That's it. We lend you the gloves, and there are changing rooms and showers on site.

When is the class and where do I park?

Check our live timetable for the current women-only slot. We're at Weyford House, Woodbridge Meadows, Guildford GU1 1BA, with on-site parking and a ten-minute walk from the station.

How much does it cost?

Your first class is free. After that, adult Muay Thai membership is £90 a month, or you can pay as you go at £15 a class. Membership includes all Muay Thai classes plus gym use during opening hours. There's a one-off £25 joining fee on memberships. (BJJ and Savate are priced separately.)
